  disappearing clips

  am editing a music video in FCP. I have locked the base and am adding cutaways. I control clicked a cutaway to Motion to add an image mask, emitter and light overlay. It looked good in Motion and I wanted to return to FCP. The clip in FCP has the motn. label so things look good. I rendered the segment but cannot see the results in FCP segment and am now seeing the underlying clip as well as the clip I am working on that is in V2. In the browser in FCP is the new clip from Motion but it will not go into my segment. I do not understand why I am not seeing the clip from motion and why I am not seeing the underlying clip from track 1? Any idea as to what happen? Incidentally, I am not using the original media but am using the media transferred to my hard drive via media manager. I have all the media from the project.

  Export from Motion as a QuickTime first.
