  Optical Flow

  Is there a way to apply optical flow retiming to only the clip you wish to remap? When I tried the other day to smooth out a 5 second clip I’d retimed in FCP, Motion tried to analyze the entire 38000 frame source media. When you consider the space and time, (God knows how many Gb and at least 18 hours according to the task list), needed for such a huge analysis it seems absolutely ludicrous that there is no option to simply select the subclip!

  A subclip is not its own piece of media, it always refers back to the original media. If all you need is 5 seconds, export that as a self contained movie.

  I am having this same problem.

  Does anyone have a method of “sending” the clip from the timeline to motion like Apple shows in the demos, but not having optical flow analyze the whole media file?
