  • Detecting the current compression of a file?

Posted by Mark_c on August 30, 2005 at 4:35 pm

I am having trouble finding out if files I am using are already compressed. If I bring a .mov into After Effects, is there a way to finding out the size on disk and the current compression if there is any?

I usually go to File->File Information in Virutal Dub, but Virtual Dub does not support .mov files.

    Thanks in advance.

Open it in QT player, then use ctrl/cmd-J to Get Properties. Look for Video Track and Format.
