  • how do i stop the emitters but keep the particles?

Posted by Ellen Osborne on November 11, 2006 at 6:37 pm

    Hi
I have used a particle emitter to grow a field of grass. Now I want it to stop growing and just remain on the screen as full grown grass waving in the breeze. However, If I just put an out mark on the emitter then I loose all the grass at that point. But I can’t seem to stop it from growing no matter what settings I use. I have the scale over life filter on it with a defined duration, but it still keeps growing even after that filter is suppose to be out. I tried taking scale over life off, but still the grass keeps growing. Basically I just want the emitter to stop doing its job but leave me the particles. Any advice?
    Thanks, Ellen

Export a freeze frame of the appropriate frame and amke it the Out point.

Import the freeze frame and put it in the timeline following the out point of the emitter.

Thanks, this seems like it could work. But tell me, what does “amke” mean?

Means a typo got past my tired old eyes. Or consider it an anagram for “make.”
