I recently bought the Macbook Pro 2.16 running OS 10.4.8 with 95 GB of drive space and 2 GB of RAM installed by the Apple Store. Here’s the thing: I keep getting the ‘spinning beach ball of death’ every single time I try to open a tutorial or start a new project. This is the Universal edition (5.1.2) of Motion that came with my 5.1.2 upgrade. I would love to start designing but the beach ball has me at a loss. I also moved the tutorial media from the Shared Users section of my Users folder to one of my external hard drives and it still locks up. Does anyone have any solution to this problem? I would definitely appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help! 🙂

If you moved all the tutorial media to a different location I would suggest putting an alias pointing to the new location in the old location so that Motion can reference them correctly.

Have you tried deleting your preference file?

Have you checked to see if any fonts are corrupted?
