If I take a clip of video or a still image and apply “make particle”, is there a way to generate a particle that is individual pieces of the image not the whole image, and make it build a solid final image? In other words, my image comes from off screen as individual pieces not squares of the complete image, and builds on screen as the completed image. I hope I’m explaining this correctly. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Steve

A plugin is probably going to be the best/easiest way to achieve for the effect you want. A shatter plugin would do it. You can look at Boris Continuum’s Shatter effect as possibility: https://www.borisfx.com/products/CONTINUUM_COMPLETE/

If they are still images you might try aranging them into the end position that you want to achieve. Then use the repell behavior and an invisible object to have them repell away from. Render that out, then pop it back into motion and use the scrub effect to reverse the animation.
