I am a new user of Motion and have recently been having major problems with the application “unexpectedly’ quitting. Of late it has been so frequent that I have been able to make any productive use of the app.

I have tried trashing the preferences without any improvement.

Any suggestions as to what I might try would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been having same problem w/ Motion and the randomly occurring “not responding”. I typically multi-task between Motion, FCP, Safari, and Quicktime, so I figure there may be something conflicting amongst these files/programs. But it still occurs when I restart and only run Motion. It usually happens when I inadvertently click mouse multi-times when missing a button or menu… (e.g., on the 2nd click the spinning wheel of death appears…).

Whatever is causing this has to stop as I’m only working on a 20 sec segment and its taking forever!

Motion uses a lot of system resources. Even with 2GB of RAM I try to run it alone. Switching it with a lot of other apps can cause a crash.
