  tracing line over video

  Hello,

  FCP editor new to motion. I have a 2D landscape rendering that moves from left to right over the course of 2 minutes. I would like to trace a line over the rolling landscape over the entirety of the footage. The line can be just a fraction of length of the screen (like a snake moving over a hilly ground). The “Line Segment” preset in Replicator is pretty close to what I’m looking for (I changed it from Geometry to Wave for a curve-linear approach).

  My question is how do I trace it over the rolling landscape? Thanks in advance!
