    I have brought in a video clip to MOTION, scaled it down to 50% and placed it over an animated background. I want to soften the edges of the frame containing the video clip, throwing just the edges out of focus. I must be having a slow brain moment because I can’t seem to figure it out though I know the command must be staring at me. I haven’t found anything that stands out in this regard in the manual either…

    Create a mask on the clip and add a Channel Blur to the mask and set it on the alpha channel only in the Filter inspector.

    Thanks Jim, I’ll try it now. I am coming over to Motion from Boris where this particular function was an slider option similar to drop shadow, crop, etc.
