  Motion and Final cut -from offline to conform question

  I am editing a documentary in FCP5 shot in Hdv and have worked the piece in offline RT mode.
  Now, I have done quite a lot of graphics work using motion during the edit, using the ‘sent to option’ from Final cut.
  Because of the insatbility of Motion I am weary of going on and do all my graphics from the offline work.

  My question goes like this:
  When I reconform my project in FCP, will FCP automatically render the motion clips back in Hdv?

  Am I better of doing the graphics from a full resolution platform? and do I need to change from the native hdv codec to an i-frame based one- will that help Motion?
  Any suggestions welcome.

  When you conform or uprez your sequence you will need to re-render the motion clips. The re-rendered clips should be at the higher resolution. Why don’t you take a minute or so of your sequence and experiment. The FCP documentation says that when working in offline RT, all graphics will be conformed when uprezing. Please let us know how it goes.
