  Export transparent

  Hello….I have Motion 2 and I have keyed out some green from some footage using DVmatte blast. I now want to export and use the footage in FCP. Except whenever I export, the video has a black background and I have lost my transparency

  Is there any settings to export from motion and keep my transparent background???

  Before exporting, change to TRANSPARENT in the Canvas window display to check that there is transparency (look for the checkerboard background).

  Are you exporting with the Animation compressor set to Millions+ as the color depth? You must use a format that includes the alpha channel.

  Jim,

  There was a quick tip in the last LAFCPUG newsletter, which dealt with this and it said to turn off the background color in the project properties as well as exporting with alpha.

  But I just tried that and I got no checkerboard. What am I missing?
