  Motion very slow

  Greetings,

  I am running Motion on a G5 2.7 dual, 8 GB memory but getting horrible performance. Seems like the program bogs down when displaying all but the simplest animation. Render speed when exporting seems fine. My gfx card is the ATI Radeon 9650 which has 256 mb Vram. Is it possible that this card is too slow? If so can anyone make a recommendation on a faster card?

  I wouldn’t run Motion on a 9650 unless necessary (like on my Powerbook.) Go with the ATI Radeon x800 or the nVidia 6800 for the best performance with Motion.

  Also, if you are working in 32- or 16-bit float you can get better performance if you change the View level to 8-bit (turn off float display).
