    i’m new here, first post, and new to the Mac and G5, so i apologize ahead of time for my forthcoming plethora of dumb questions. here comes #1:

    – when creating an NTSC project, and copying and pasting an object/image, i keep getting the warning that “this object is too large to render, and will be cropped. The max size is 2048 x 2048.” what up with this? This is happening merely on a simple font graphic that i have copied and pasted back into the project, and this SD project moves VERY slowly.

    i have recently purchased a second drive to start storing my media on, so maybe this is part of the slowness problem? i’ll see how different it is after installing the drive…

    thanks!

    sincerely,

    It’s pretty self explanatory- max image size is being exceeded. Perhaps the graphic is a huge PSD file? Open in Photoshop and resize it.

    i agree, it DOES sound pretty self-explanatory, but if i am in a 720 x 486 project and i create a font graphic and copy and paste it (or duplicate it), why would it all of a sudden be 2k x 2k?

    Hi Tad,
    Could you be a little more specific about what it is your are cutting and pasting?

    Even though you are working in a SD comp, everything outside the canvas area is rendered. ie: if you have some large sized font on a long line of text that you are panning through the canvas, you can easily hit the texture limit of the card, especially if you have a filter on the text that grows it’s size as well.

    “i’m seeing this even happen when i choose a behavior in the library…”

    simply selecting a behavior in the library is popping up this message? That has never happend for me and I can’t think of what could cause it. Is it when selecting any behavior? A specific Behavior? Which one?

    In order to explain what you are seeing, we need to know what you are doing. Currently the only thing we know is that you have an SD project and that really doesn’t give us anything to go on.

    Starting from scratch;

    What is your project?
    What does it consist of?
    What and how big are your elements? (resolution of files, size of text or shapes etc)
    At what point do you see the message? (adding the first element? adding particles? changing the blend mode?)
