Hi. I’m having trouble exporting superimposed layers from final cut to motion.

When the multiple layers reach motion, certain attributes seem to be lost, most annoying of all are freeze frames made in fcp (they appear in motion as some other random footage from elsewhere in the edit).

Additionally, some of the footage going into motion looks okay there but when it comes back into fcp the image quality is v. poor (particularly on gfx and even on the output monitor).

Any ideas of ways to avoid this?

What export settings are you using? The animation codec gives the least amount of quality loss going back and forth.

I’m just using the File > Export to motion menu option. (ie taking my FCP work into Motion the way the software was designed to be used..!!)
