I have used the Adobe suite for editing on and off for a couple of years (my new job just got CC after close to a year of me having to use Final Cut Pro X). However, I’ve always been curious about some of the effects settings in Audition. Since it’s so tied to the video editing suite, what’s with all the drum and guitar and rap vocal effects. etc? I understand if it once had been a ProTools type app and these are remnants, but it seems like they would have retooled it in such a way to make it more comprehensive on the film audio side of things instead of music production.

Not a huge deal but, again, curious.

    Sam,

Audition was an audio editing and multitrack application long before Premiere Pro even existed. It started life as “Cool Edit” from Syntrillium Software. It was, and still is, a very capable music application, not just for video.
