  • When To Apply Mastering?

I have VO I’m working on for a project. I’m using compression, eq, mastering and reverb on the audio (in that order).

At the end of the process I notice I have plenty of available headroom, which I then I have to normalize. Should I be saving my mastering step till last? Does it matter when this is applied and should I always have that much headroom I then need to normalize to -0.30db?

    Thanks!
