Strange “out-of-alignment” issue
When recording into audition, the wave is not centered on the red line, but is offset. I have attached a link to a screen capture. The offset causes issues, such as clicks and pops, whenever I cut up the audio.

I found my own solution.
Go to Options>Device Properties>Wave In>(bottom left of screen) check box “Adjust to zero-DC when recording”
The first .5 seconds will be below but then Audition ramps it up to the zero mark.

Another (sometimes) solution to the DC Offset bias issue, is to take the file and select the whole wave, then go to Amplify and add a small .5 dB boost.
That will usually correct the wave to the zero level.
