From reading past posts I gather that Audition cannot successfully remove audio thumps when they occur during conversations. Is there a program that can do that?

    Thanks

Don’t understand that. In Audition 1.5 or 2.0 it’s easy to use the spectral view, draw a little box round the thump, and delete it. Then replace it with thumpless nearby audio if you want. I’m pretty sure there is a tutorial on the Adobe site showing this method. I regularly use this method with plosives caused by voices too close to the mic.

Ozpeter is absolutly right I think you were confusing the removal of ambiant room echo but using the singel click removal tool in the spectral view is the way to go for something like this … The cool thing is that in 2.0 they have added a lasso tool that will really make it even better ……….
