I’m able to render out my footage to all my local hard drives drives (in my case, C, D, E, F & G) using just about any media format, for example AVI, WMV, h.264 etc. EXCEPT Quicktime. When I try to render a file to Quicktime format, I get the following error message:

“Error compiling movie. Unable to open or create output file.”

As I said, I can render any other format to the same local drives with no problem. Only Quicktime has this problem.fails.

The only way I’ve been able to render out QT files is to render them to an external device, for example, a 32gb USB drive.

Has anyone else had this problem?

You don’t say whether you’re working on a 64-bit system. This could be critical to any answer.

    Hi Joe.

    Yes, it’s a 64 bit Windows 7 system. I’m running After Effects/premier CS5.5 with all current updates.
