  Create painting effect in after effects

  Hey,

  So I’m new to After Effects and I’m trying to create a painting effect similar to the one in the link below. I’m creating an animation where the paint divides across a page and forms into people and images.Is there any way I can do this in After Effects? Thanks.

  Track mattes are the way to go with something like this. I would use paint strokes either bought or made and use them to fill in pre-cut out layers.
