  Box Blur clipping top edge of layer

  Hi Guys,

  I apologize if this has been posted on before, I did check the FAQ and try a few searches. I’m using the Dissolve – vapor preset animation to bring a group of soldiers in and out of smoke. I noticed the box blur is clipping off the top of my layer and can’t seem to get those pixels back by increasing the radius. Any suggestions?

  Precomp that layer, and then increase the size of that comp beyond your video resolution.

  I find this solves some of the edge issues created by the more basic blur and sharpen filters.
