    The setup:

We have 3 – 34’h x 14’w (Cinemascope) hanging silk screens we need to project onto.

The initial plan was to use 3 projectors to rear project only each screen.
But we found due to our limited space, we only have roughly 18′ between screen and wall which does not allow us
to get anywhere close to the hight we need.

If we used front projection from screen to end of stage, it gives us about 25′ or so, but still not enough height.

After calling around and finding that there is really not a projector that can give us the dimensions and throw we need, we have moved to plan B, which is to use a single projector to front project only all 3 screens and build the video as a single video component instead of split.

Using this method, we have more flexibility with the throw distance, but the size of the projection would need to be 30′-34′ ( as it does not need to be all the way to the top, just as high as we can get) to 50′ wide to hit all 3 screens with about a 4′ gap between each.

We are open to any ideas that would help us accomplish what we need.

    Thanks,

    Derek

Go back to three projectors, use a triple-head-to-go unit to split one master video over the three projectors. Build the video as a comp in AfterEffects to fit the dimensions you need, play it out of the computer to the triple-head…?
