  Projector Suggestions for this application

  My regular gig requires me to go into old high school gymnasiums, with the usual gym lighting, and ambient light from windows or skylights, and project a presentation and/or video from my laptop and camera, via a Kramer switcher/scaler. (Sometimes DVCPro tape playback, sometimes DVD)

  I need to add another projector and I have about 3K to shop with. What projectors should I be looking at? Any experience with the Optoma TX783?

  What size screen are you usually projecting on?
  Usual audience size?
  It can be difficult to compete with ambient light/ sunshine.

  Phil,

  The ambient light issues usually aren’t too bad, as I have them black out the windows if it’s a daytime meeting. I can sometimes kill some of the overhead lighting. The screens that I usually use are 10.5 x 7 ft DaLite (Rear and front project depending on the room)

  I also have 12 x 15 DaLite screen for bigger rooms. Sometimes I use an inflatable Sima screen.
