  Open Project – Explorer Window Doesn’t Show Folder Hierarchy

  So, when inside after effects I go to open a project and it navigates to my last open folder, when I go into the pull down menu to go to the folder hierarchy and try to go ‘one level up’, the folder shows no history/hierarchy etc. I have to use the sidebar on the left to navigate back to the root directory of the drive and drill down again. Is this behavior normal? Does it have something to do with the indexing, or lack thereof, of the drive in question?
