I’ve been using Encore for the last three years and I like it’s flexibility etc. I was using Premiere Pro but now I’m switching to FCPX however having invested lots of time in learning Encore I’d like to continue using it for DVD authoring.

So, I added some FCPX chapter markers to my FCPX project and got FCPX to ’Share’ it specifying ‘Master File (default)’ and I clicked on ‘Include chapter markers’.

Once the file had been created, within Encore I imported it as a ’Timeline’ but no Chapter Markers showed so I couldn’t reference these in the submenu flowchart. I know I could set these points up within Encore on the timeline for the file involved but I’d love to know if there is a way of getting Encore to recognise FCPX chapter markers straight off. Possible…?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

I don’t believe so. the only way chapter import worked before was
a dynamic link to a premiere timeline with chapter markers.

It’s kinda bogus that Encore doesn’t have at least a text file
import option with timecodes for chapters like dvd studio pro.

Been away – apologies for not acknowledging your reply earlier.

Thanks for the reply Chris and it looks as I suspected. Chapter points need to be standardised by the UN! But no problem, I’ll just put them in within Encore. I might even dig out my old version of DVD Studio Pro and see how I get on with that.
