• Adobe Encore DVD

  Can’t import .MXF files into Encore CS6

  Hi there,
  I exported a .mxf file from Premiere Pro CS6 which I would now like to import into Encore CS6. Upon trying to import I get the following error:

  The software that’s used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem.

  stev,
  your next step is to encode your video-asset using adobe media encoder – MXF in-> MPEG2 elementary stream + dolby digital audio elementary stream out!

  these assets could be imported into encore for authoring.

  Thanks Daniel,

  That’s how I usually do it but this particular project has several smaller clips (but a lot of footage). I was hoping to avoid the extra step of calculating the total duration of all of the clips and then calculating again the compression settings.

  It’s frustrating because it’s supposed to work, right? It’s not a big deal. I just wish I knew how to fix it.

  stev,
  you allways have to do a bitbudgeting if you are authoring a DVD or BD. it´s a necessary step in the whole process. otherwise you might overfill the disc by choosing the wrong duration/bitrate-szenario…

  if there are a lot clips, you can prepare a watch-folder within AME to transcode them.
