• Adobe Encore DVD

  Hardware error: sense code 40901

  Hello All,

  I have burned a DL dvd in Encore and as it was close to finishing writing the files and I get a “hardware error: sense code 40901” and the disc pops out. The dvd has a main menu & submenu. The footage plays for about half of the video then becomes choppy then eventually stops. Also when I select the submenu the 2nd and 3rd chapter will not play when selected at all. I have done a bit of reseacrh and some folks say it has to do with other programs running. I try not to have other programs running to give Encore full attention. The footage I imported into Encore is an AVI file that is 2 hours and 30 mins. Build: write speed= 6x, Size of disc= Custom 8.45, Region code: option 1.

  System: Windows 7 64bit. Ram= 16gb, i5.

  Has anybody else come across this and has a solution? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  I resolved the problem reducing the Writing Speed 1x minimum you can if this doesn’t work I would change the DVD brand. I recommend Verbatim you can find it at Office Depot, Office Max, or Sam’s Club
