Hi, I’m producing a video for a client. It’s an electrician company. I want to have their logo/company name in the middle of the frame with a lightbulb hanging above. I want the the bulb to flicker for a few seconds and then stay on.

I have a lightbulb with a transparent background and the text all set-up, but I can’t figure out a good way to make this happen. I tried using a light above the text, but it doesn’t look like it’s coming from the bulb. I also tried masking a white solid and feathering it around the bulb, which looks ok as a still image, but doesn’t look great with animation, plus it doesn’t create shadows on any other layers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am completely at a loss. Thanks

How about making a lens flare or such and wiggling the intensity so it will flicker?
