  Making buttons useful

  When bringing in a menu with, say, Play, Scene Selecton, Special Features from Photoshop . . . they remain a part of the menu background and I cannot get them to activate.

  You need to add predefined prefixes to the layer names while creating a menu in Photoshop.
  Instead of creating menus from scratch in Photoshop and adding prefixes manually, you may want to open a menu from Encore and then edit the file in Photoshop.
