Proxies for better PremPro playback. I’m going wrong
Hi guys,
I have a proxy problem 🙂
I’m creating proxies of my AE comps for smoother playback in PP, but it’s still laggy. It’s not the proxies that are the problem per se, but the AE comp on PP timeline. Perhaps a Dynamic Link issue
I’m re-timing some clips on my PP timeline using AE via dynamic link i.e. “replace with After Effects Composition”. I would think that a simple retime done in AE wouldn’t be a problem for PP to playback, but it is… hence the proxy creation
Crucial points:
- ALL of the footage in PP is in ProRes 442HQ and sits on a Raid drive
- This footage plays in PP without any issues
- AE comp proxies are ALSO ProRes 442HQ and on the same Raid drive
Interestingly – If I take the AE comp proxy file (a .mov proRes as I’ve said) and place it directly on the PP time, it plays just fine and snappy…
…but the dynamic linked file using the SAME proxy will alas not
Any help?
Many thanks
