I have a problem with background m2v animation that is supposed to play in the background of the ‘NTSC Lakeside Menu’ (clouds rolling in the background). It’s not working on the preview or burned dvd disk (tested in computer and dvd players). How do I link the background m2v file to the menu? It seems like some menu animations work and some don’t.

Alt-drag the video clip into a menu opened in the Menu editor.

You’ll have to render the motion menu to see it play back in Encore.

Thanks for clearing that up. It works perfectly 🙂

I tried this and still can’t get it to work. I created the motion in Flash and exported it as a Quicktime movie.

Sorry, I thought this linked to the previous thread about animated backgrounds for menus. What I tried to do was to add an animated background to a menu in Encore. I created the animation in Flash CS3; exported as a Quicktime movie; imported into Enore; and then option dragged the file to my menu. I then rendered the motion menu and tried to preview it without any luck. It was only a still image with working buttons.

It may just be a preview problem.

Try burning a DVD RW disc and check it in a DVD player.
