This is a problem that occurs when I import mpeg2 files encoded with Sonic DVD Producer (3.5.2). I suspect it has something to do with the closed gop setting. Encore hangs when I create a Timeline for the clip and so on every time I try to navigate in the timeline. It seems to me that Encore will seek thru the whole mpeg2 on every move the software makes. This means that the computer hangs for say 5-15 mins, and that means a lot of wait, I can’t seem to find anything on this by Adobe or even the internet!!! Is it Adobe or windows? Apparently a some combination. Other imports works fine by the way! TIA

So are you setting the GOPs open or closed? If open, then use closed.

Thanx a lot for your feedback!
Well….It Seems to me that the Sonic DVD producer software won’t allow me to select Closed GOP – well that is: Only if I select “none” instead of “DVD” under compliance, which to me don’t seem like an obvious choice? But maybe Sonic is very strick about compability? And it actually doesn’t matter?
