  • Creating ghostly figure — Gradient opacity on lower half of body??

Posted by Alan Wagner on February 28, 2012 at 4:49 am

Hey all, I have some green-screened footage of a person and I need to make them appear as a ghost in my movie. Right now I’m trying to figure out how I can gradually fade out the lower half of their body, so their stomach would have 80% opacity, their thighs would have about 50%, their knees $10%, and so on. Could anyone help me out with this? I have been googling for a while but haven’t come up with much, not sure if i am using the right terms??

    Use a mask with feather.

You can restore the background (clean) of your comp over the top and use a mask with a feathered edge mask as one simple example…
