I have a video that’s 720×486, but whenever I master it to dvd it either goes widescreen or 4:3 with black boxes on the side. I’m exporting it out of Premiere. I’ve tried QT 720×486 Square (black bars on side), 720×486 .9(16:9), 720×480 square(black bars on side), 720×480 .9(16:9), if I try sending it out of premiere as an avi then when I master it to DVD the video is upside down and backwards. The Encore help says to click on the file and do interprete footage to fix the problem, but Interprete Footage is always greyed out. Anyone have any ideas?

I think the interpret footage option goes grey once the footage has been transcoded. You can revert to original, and then it should come back.

What if you export out of Premiere as MPEG-2? That’s the most efficient way to prep the video for DVD anyhow.

Oh, and what version of Encore are you using?
