I don’t know if this is possible with Encore:
I want to produce a simple DVD with a menu that contains buttons that link to one or more videos. Simple enough.. basic stuff. But I would also like to have a button that links to a printable document (.pdf, .doc or similar). This DVD is a marketing tool; a handout where we want to have a printable rebate coupon included as an extra incentive for customers who have received this handout. Can this be done in Encore? If so, how? If not, do you have any alternate suggestions how to include a printable document in a CD or DVD that contains video. I have never made an interactive CD-ROM, and have no idea where to begin to do that. But I am willing to buy some software that’s quick and easy to learn and use.

i think that eDVD from Sonic should enable to you to do what you need.

First I thought “uh oh,the guy’s having a problem, he posted his question four times”. Then I saw that I somehow replied four times. Yikes.
Hope my response(s) help though 🙂 We use Director for our interactive CD-ROM stuff. It claims you can run DVD Video with it too, but we haven’t yet had a project come up that requires us to do so.

I’m not toally up on this but doesn’t Encore allow you to link extra material such as you are talking about? If you have the Encore manual it should explain it. I would look up the reference for you but I can’t find my manual, and that is killing me!!

No, this is not possible with Encore. However, you can do it using eDVD with an Encore-generate DVD folder.

Yeah, you could do it through Macromedia, it would be a heck of a lot simpler though eDVD though.
