• Adobe Encore DVD

  Error -31000

  Hi All,

  I’ve been involved in a large scale DVD archiving project for some time now. With the new Encore 1.5 things have been going very smoothly until today.

  When I attempt to burn the last two DVDs in this project I get this error:
  PGC “Track Name” has an error at timecode xx:xx:xx:xx. Unknown Error (DVD Error -31,000)

  This happens when the planning audio for movie is displayed. I’ve done a test importing just the audio and video track into Encore in a clean project and it burns fine. This is an hour long show with chapters and subtitles. The show was encoded with Cinemacraft SP. As I said this is the tail end of a large project. I’ve burned 40+ DVDs using all the same tools with no problems.

  Machine is a Dual P4 Dell Precision Workstation. Encore 1.5 with latest updates.

  Any suggestions appreciated.

  Ok…I solved it. Text file for subtitles wasn’t unicode. Funny though I’ve always received an error message on import when this was the case.
