HELP! I’m working on my demo reel & I need to get it out to an organization ASAP.

I need some help with transcoding. I dumped a few short clips into Encore and I’m getting a stuttering in the clips. With the fast moving footage, it looks good. But with the slow moving footage I’m getting the stuttering. All clips were transcoded 4Mb 2-pass VBR. Origional clips are Avid quicktimes, 2:1 compression, 720×486, 29.97

1.Where’s a good starting point on tweeking the transcoding?
    2.Would Squeeze 3.5 do a better job?

    TIA,

    Donato,

If the total running time if short then you can crank up the bitrate a lot. Try 7Mb. Also, unless you are trying to cram 5 pounds of whatever into a 1 pound bag use CBR.

Thanks Dave. 7Mb didn’t help but I’ll try CBR. I have a lot of room of still available on the disc.

Miss all of you guys from the edit forum. Maybe someone will once again invent the perfect system & we’ll all get back together. Got to go, my eyes are getting sore from these new red glasses I just bought 🙂
