Animating/Motion menu buttons vs audio looping issue
Here’s what I want to do and I can’t figure out a way how.
I have a menu that has audio (a song that lasts about 5 minutes) and I have 8 chapter points that I have made animated/motion buttons for. I want the video in the buttons to loop every 20 seconds but I want the song I have linked to the menu to last the full 5 minutes. It seems as though that the audio is synched to the motion buttons and they loop at the same time. Which means I have my motion buttons loop at 5 minutes (length of song) or I have to if I choose the loop point for 20 seconds, the song also loops. Is there any way I can seperate the two for loop points?Will

You can’t make the audio and video loop separately, the DVD spec locks them together (actually, I’ve seen discs that get around this, but they use complicated scripting and haven’t been compatible with all players).
For what you want to do, you should build your motion menu in After Effects (could also be done in Premiere). Bring in the menu background PSD file and your video clip. Shrink the clip down to the appropriate size and duplicate it to make 8 copies. Reposition them as necessary, and shift them in time to match the chapter points. Make the length of the comp/timeline 5 minutes (the length of your song). Export to an AVI or MPEG file, the less compression the better.
