  NX5U won’t turn on, just blinking slot A

  Can’t find any info on this problem. I recorded all day yesterday without problems. This morning I try to power on the camera and the only response is the red light on slot A blinks twice, short pause, then blinks 8-9 times and repeats. After switching the power off the blinking pattern continues until the power supply or battery is removed.

  The screen doesn’t come on, nothing in viewfinder, lens elements are unresponsive to zoom attempts, reset button will stop the blinking while it is pressed but then the pattern resumes…

  Anyone have any advice?

  Hi David,

  Was this ever resolved? I have a used NX5U here and it blinks 4 times. It does the first two blinks about 1 second apart and then two quick blinks.

  Nothing is working…no screen, nothing.

  That doesn’t sound good.

  First, try pressing the reset button on top with a paperclip.

  Second Check in the manual what the blinking pattern indicates.

  Alternatively call sony tech support and ask them what the code means.
