  NEX5t: “Intelligent Auto” & “Superior Auto”

  I’ve been shooting video using a NEX5t on a quadcopter; I’m getting good results but I think they could be better (image seems a little soft on focus).

  Last night I noticed it was set to “Standard/17Mbs” bitrate, so I changed that to “Maximum/28MBs”, so I’m hoping that will help. But, it was also set to “Intelligent Auto”, and I saw “Superior Auto” as well, but I just can’t find any information (online or in the user guide) that tells me the difference between them.

  I would love to see your footage.

  I did a quick search also and did not find anything about the definition.

  In my experience with Sony’s marketing mumbo jumbo, is that intelligent usually means that it is a compromise between two competing items. Could be between focus accuracy vs focus hunting, or battery life, or distortion etc.

  However, best thing to do is a controlled experiment using both ways and see for yourself what the difference is and let us know.
