Hi there! I am planning to upgrade my FS700 to firmware 3.0. If I had the money I would buy the Oddyssey7Q to be able to record continuous RAW/superslowmotion. I’ve been thinking of buying the Atomos Samurai Blade instead but don’t know if it will benefit as much of the firmware upgrade as the Oddyssey7Q??

Does anybody know if it’s possible to record true a true uncompressed 12-bit stream from the camera’s SDI to the Samurai Blade in 10-bit Prores422?

    Thanks in advance.

No, the FS700R (or FS700U with the ‘R’ upgrade) will only output 12 bit RAW in the Sony RAW format. You’d need an AXS-R5/Odyssey 7Q to record the 12 bit raw signal. You can still do uncompressed recording from the camera head to any external recorder via HD-SDI but it will be 8 bit uncompressed video, not 12 bit uncompressed RAW.
