  • How to remove jitter(jumping)when panning on EX1

Posted by Pushpanatha De silva on July 4, 2014 at 11:32 am

I found when I pan (full automatic mode)the EX1(slowly), I could see jitter when I transfer the clip to DVD or Blue Ray disc. I use the same resolution on Adobe Premiere Pro (CS6) which was same as my EX1. How can I remove or reduce jitter when panning EX1. Thx.

Are you shooting Interlaced or Progressive? I always find you get smoother pans with Interlaced.

Thx..I use 1080 25p on my camera as well as Adobe PPro CS6. So, you mean to say that 1080 50i works well on paning situations?? How about the HD quality?? Can you see much of a difference on resolution/quality??
    Thx again for your comment/advice..

First of all this may not be the explanation for your jittery footage but, I always shoot in 1920 X 1080i at 25fps. I know many (most) contributors to this forum shoot Progressive, but I get brilliant picture quality and my current DVD’s and (particularly) my BD’s look very good indeed. Wait and see what others say about your problem. Maybe your encoding is to blame, what does the raw footage look like?

Thx Michael, Yes I could see little bit blur/shudder on the time line too..but more can be seen in the Blue ray disk..I was recorded the clip using on full auto function. I read some articles it will reduced if I use on manual mode on 1/50 shutter speed.
