  PMW 300 buying advice?

  COW newcomer here.

  After pointing other people’s cameras for many years, I’m considering taking the plunge to buy a camera kit built round a Sony PMW 300. It’s mostly for news, current affairs, corporate and sport, and most of the companies I work for already use Sony, hence the choice.

  A few questions.

  Has anyone tried this camera with the Sony VCT-SP2BP shoulder support, and how does it perform? The full shoulder mount available looks a bit bulky and I’m looking for lightness and portability.

  For clients who want to take rushes away, and aren’t about to cough up for SxS cards, what are the best options? If I need to dub to SD cards or USB sticks, how long does this take, and what formats are available?
