Sony no longer has a service facility in Hawaii. My camera is a first gen. EX-1 and has a number of problems to include the problem of not recognizing the batteries to a broken DC port and poor autofocus performance. Who is the best shop to send the camera. Even when Sony had a shop in Honolulu, their turn around time was fairly slow. Can the community recommend a reliable and responsive shop to send the camera. I would consider a non-sony facility.

    Thanks,

    Jay

Check with Video Engineering. If they can’t then they can probably recommend somewhere that does.

This is the group I recommend. They did a fine job on my EX1 and I plan to send my EX3 there soon for a firmware update.

They are located in Burbank, CA.

    Thanks David,

I stumbled on these guys independently. So far they are great to work with. I look forward to my camera’s return.

    Aloha,
