  EX1R footage in quicktime

  Hi
  I was asked to edit some footage in quicktime shot on EX1P 1080p24. I can’t import it into Premiere cs4. Does anyone know which codec I need?

  As your post might indicate Quicktime is a container. The codec is likely XDCAM EX assuming they just rewrapped the file. It installs with Final Cut Pro so you won’t have it, can’t get it unless you have FCP 6.0.2 and up installed.

  Calibrated Software has a plugin that will allow you to use XDCAM EX mov files on systems that don’t have FCP with the codec installed.

  You should just get the BPAV folders (Camera Masters) and then you can use them as you see fit as is (CS5 can and maybe CS4) otherwise they can be rewrapped to MXF as well.

  Thanks for your post. I downloaded calibrated softwares XD and that works fine in demo mode…despite the annoying watermarks(what did I expect, free?). Thanks a lot!Richard
