I’m looking for advice on how to protect my EX1R during an extended shoot on an ocean beach. Blowing sand will be a frequent reality. I want to be able to tripod mount the camera, retain access to the controls, and at the same time protect it from the wind-blown sand.

    Thanks!

I’ve used small towels to give my EX1 some protection both from the Sun and from blowing junk. You have to be careful with heat buildup when you use something like plastic or a camera glove. In the Florida sun, my EX1 can get VERY hot to the touch so I never use anything more than a thin handtowel. Hope this helps.

You boys are the lucky ones, here in the UK drizzly rain is our problem and plastic covers are OK. Hot sun? We should be so lucky!

But your accents are so cool. And you have Shakespeare, and per capita you win so many more Oscars than any other country. It’s not all rain and gloom.
