  “factory default” white balance

  New to the EX1R, and I have another question:

  Can I change the “default” setting for White Balance to Daylight, or is it forever going to be 3200K? Most cameras that I’ve used have given me the option of tungsten or daylight as the base value, in addition to the A & B settings. Is this where Picture Profiles are useful?

  Yes indeed. Hit the picture profile button and edit one of the presets. Use the joystick to:

  • drop down one click to SET
  • joy stick right and then down to the White setting
  • scroll to Preset White
  • Change the colour temp to anything you want.

  Make sure the profile you just edited is visible and you’re not seeing OFF Leave the picture profile screen. Now the white balance switch on the left side of the camera has a Preset mode (PRST). That’s where you access your picture profile white balance. Trés cool.
