  • How to make vertical letters fall over like a building collapsing

Posted by Paul Boone on January 28, 2012 at 11:31 pm

    Hey guys,

So, I have a stack of horizontal letters that fall from the top of the frame into a stack. An outline is drawn around the words that makes it look like a building, and then it rotates 90degrees so that the words and outline are now vertical.

I want to have the Building fall down, from the top down, letter by letter. Any ideas how to do this? Also, it would be good if the building started swaying first, and shaking like there was a earthquake.

I have no idea how to do this, so any suggestions would help

    thanks

Newton will give you real world physics in AE. It may be waht you need for this project.

I think at least for this project I’ll be limited to stock AE effects etc. to get this done. Newton is sweet though, I’m looking into for future projects.

Is there any other way, even if its lamer and cheesier that would be kind of close? Its kind of a cartoony style project so I could get away with a bit of cheese
