Transfer for AVID
I have a client in Detroit who has an AVID and needs to import from a DVD I sent them containing a BPAV file (EX-1)and a set of quicktimes that I exported for FCP. They only see a white screen when trying to watch the .movs. They are being told the need a codec.

Sony ClipBrowser (Windows version) will convert the BPAV to MXF which Avid should be able to handle.
If the .mov is Apple ProRes they can download free codec from Apple’s site. If the .mov is EX codec they’d have to buy the CalibratedSoftware EX MOV codec for non FCP systems. If they have a new Avid with AMA capabilities there’s a plugin for that.Don’t worry Steve, none of this is in the manual AFAIK.
