  • XDcamTransfer “Export Clip To File” it doesn’t use the clipname!

    Hi guys,
    I got a strange problem.

I’m using XDcam Transfer 2.12.0 to log my videoclips (HD422 mxf files).
So they get a Title and a Comment but I don’t change the Clip-Name.
For my Customer I want to export some mxf.clips to a folder and than to an XDcamDisc.
    BUT:
One month ago XDcamTransfer exported it into a folder with its Clipname, but suddenly
(I didn’t update anything. I just did some exports via Final cut pro to the PDW-u1 Device, maybe I did a preference change there, which makes a preference change for XDcamTransfer, but I can’t remember)
the clips aren’t named with the original clipname, they are named by there CLip-Title. What’s very uncomfortable, because the titles aren’t unique, they are used to sort the clips by film-capitel. So when I export 2 clips with the same title XDcamTransfer just overwrites the clip it has exported before and it doesn’t warn! How stupid!

Is there an option to change the export-naming?
I already tried a lot, but now I really got no ideas anymore.

Maybe an complete uninstall is helping? I already deleted XDcamTrasnfer via trash and new install, but it doesn’t worked.
    How can I uninstall properly?

I can’t find the preference.plist (I searched in /Library/Preferences), maybe the deleting would held?
    Where can I find it?

Please help, because if the function “export clip to folder or file” doesn’t work anymore, I really get a big problem!

    Thanks a lot
    kind regards
    Maria

    Problem not found, but solution:

    Found the plist
    com.sony.bprl.xdcamtransfer.plist
    in USER/Library/Preferences

Deleted it and now when I do “Export clip to a folder” it uses the Clip-Name

Mac has too many library-folders and spotlight didn’t found plist when I was searching it this morning. Very strange is, that it is finding it now.

    Kind regards
    Happy MAria 😀

If ‘Show title’ in the View menu is checked then the XDCAM Transfer exports the clips with the title as the filename. I’m guessing that you hit the shortcut key by mistake somewhere along the way.

If you are viewing the clip details rather than the thumbnails then you probably wouldn’t see any change.

Well, I didn’t expect, that the solution would be that easy!:-D
I love shortcuts, but if you do it by mistake, it can get the hell. In Word that happens to me to me very often, and now ctrl+z is helping.
But through such mistakes you learn more and more about the software.

    Thanks Daniel 😀
